We started designing web sites back in 1995. In those days, simplying having a web site was cool. No-one actually considered what a web site was 'for' - or how it might help the business. Things might have changed in the late 1990s, but Macromedia Flash came along and ruined things. 'Movement' and 'animation' became cool. Companies spent tens of thousands on visually impressive 'brochure sites' that achieved very little (other than making their designers richer).

About this time Small Fry started thinking differently. We realised that web sites only make sound business sense when their design:

• is driven by the information your customers need to find
• dovetails well with your exisitng business processes

Clients began to come to us when they needed a 'web site that worked'. Today, 8 years later, they're still coming. Over that time we've learned a lot. What's great is that (because we like listening) each new client teaches us still more.
